Tim is a Partner, Executive Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer of ApexOne. His focus includes investment strategy, acquisitions, asset management and dispositions. Tim has over 33 years of institutional real estate experience in acquisition, finance, renovation, asset management and disposition of over 40,000 residential units, ten million square feet of industrial/warehouse space and four million square feet of retail assets.
Prior to ApexOne, Tim served as Principal of a Chicago-based multifamily investment sponsor where he was responsible for the firm’s acquisitions and venture partner relationships. Prior to launching his principal career, Tim was Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Heitman Capital, an institutional real estate investment advisor with over $50 billion of assets under management. His portfolio at Heitman included $2 billion of multifamily, office, industrial and retail assets. Tim was part of the development team for several assets within his portfolio including industrial properties at Miami International Commerce Center in Miami, and large multifamily projects in Chicago and San Francisco. Prior to the acquisition of JMB Realty Corporation by Heitman Capital, Tim was the Portfolio Manager for funds within JMB Institutional Realty Corporation including several large government Pension Funds as well as JMB Group Trust V, the largest commingled fund sponsored by JMB. Within these funds Tim was responsible for leading the value enhancement strategies.
Tim is an active member of National Multifamily Housing Council, the Urban Land Institute and is a guest lecturer at the University of Florida Masters of Real Estate Program. He graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant.
